The same ritual every year. In mid-June, the demand for thank-you gifts for teachers increases. Parents generally don't buy expensive gifts, but they are heartfelt. The collection is built around that reality: accessible price points, recognizable texts, and gifts that don't look too "childish" so that they are also bought by parents of teenagers.
What types of gifts will you find here?
Four main categories, all deliberately in the under-15-euro segment.
- Tiles with text: 11x11 cm, with prints such as "thank you teacher (female)", "thank you teacher (male)", "you are the sweetest". The classic-safe choice.
- Solar garden stakes and torches: small solar lights, tulip stakes, 3D wick torches. Gifts that last longer than a tile and that the teacher will literally have in their garden.
- Candles and candle holders: sets of 7 pencil taper candles, wax torches, small cement candle holders. For the customer who wants to buy something atmospheric.
- Bags and labels: pre-printed gift bags ("thank you for this super fun school year") and labels. Gift plus packaging in one.
When should you purchase this collection?
The peak in resale is between mid-June and the end of the school year. You should preferably purchase at the beginning of May so that your customers can order early for school group outings. Large flower shops and gift shops near schools usually make two purchases: a basic order in May, a reorder in the last week.
How do you set up a teacher's corner?
Brief and effective: one table or display near the cash register, in the last two to three weeks of the school year. Clearly visible with a sign "gift for teacher". Combine tiles and solar items in the same display, with gift labels and ribbon next to them to complete the gift immediately. For cross-selling with a flower: place silk flowers or small earthenware pots nearby. Many parents combine a tile with a plant or a bouquet.
Gifts that also sell outside of school hours
Important to know: the solar garden stakes, candles, and candle holders are not school-specific items at all. They sell year-round as garden decoration and home accessories. Only the tiles and bags with specific school text are limited to the teacher period. So, you can keep any surplus of these items until next year.
