Pot liners are the unsung heroes of the flower shop. They do the work no one notices: keeping a plant dry in a decorative pot without drainage. Without a liner: dripping, spilling, soil on the floor. With a liner: a satisfied customer leaves the store. This collection is designed as a basic stock for florists and garden centers: all common pot sizes in the same pot liner series.
What will you find in this collection?
Round, in ascending sizes. One material, one type, nine sizes.
- Small size: D12, D15, D21, D25 cm. For houseplants in nursery pots and small pot sizes.
- Medium size: D30, D35, D40 cm. For the best-selling plant sizes in Dutch households.
- Large size: D45, D50 cm. For large houseplants and showpieces.
Corresponding heights vary: D12 has H12 (almost as high as it is wide), D50 has H38 (proportionally lower). See the product page for the exact matrix.
When do you need pot liners?
For almost every plant sale in a decorative pot without a drainage hole. That is:
- Houseplants in earthenware or ceramic from our earthenware pots collection
- Smaller plants in Loire, Amilly, Boule or Lousada pots
- Plants in decorative baskets from our other baskets collection
- Flower arrangements in containers without their own water reservoir
Basic rule for the shop: one pot liner per pot sold with a plant.
Which size fits which pot?
In short: the pot liner should be slightly smaller than the internal diameter of the pot. A pot with an internal diameter of D22 works well with a D21 liner. Advice to pass on to customers:
- Nursery pot 12 cm → liner D15 in decorative pot D18+
- Nursery pot 14 cm → liner D15 or D21 in pot D18-D24
- Nursery pot 17 cm → liner D21 in pot D24-D26
- Nursery pot 21 cm → liner D25 in pot D28-D32
- Nursery pot 24 cm → liner D30 in pot D33+
Are pot liners sold separately?
Some florists and garden centers sell them separately as a stock item for customers who replace pots themselves. Others use them internally in the shop as part of the plant installation. For both uses: always keep the most common sizes (D15, D21, D25) in stock.
