Potting soil and related substrates are the invisible foundation of every plant sale. Without good soil, there is no good plant. This collection covers the core needs: universal potting soil in bulk, specialized substrates (orchids, cacti) and decorative top-layer materials (hydro pellets, wood chips, granulates).
What will you find in the collection?
Four main categories of nursery basic products.
- Universal potting soil Florentus: 5, 10, 20 and 40 liter bags. Basic potting soil for most houseplants and garden plants.
- Specialized substrates: orchid soil 5 liters, cactus soil 5 liters. For plant species with specific soil needs.
- Hydro pellets and drainage: coarse and fine, in 10 and 40 liter packaging. For drainage in decorative pots without a hole.
- Decorative top layer: French bark 40L, deco bark 10L, wood chips in natural/black/lilac, granulates in pink/orange. For visual finishing.
Who is this for?
Garden centers: core customers. Potting soil is a daily stock item, with peaks in spring and autumn when customers plant (repot) plants. Florists with plant sales: as basic stock for selling houseplants in decorative pots. Combine with ceramic pots and pot covers.
Gift shops: less directly relevant, unless as a complementary product for plant gifts.
Why hydro pellets for plant sales?
Two reasons: drainage and aesthetics. Our ceramic series do not have a drainage hole as standard. Without drainage, there is a risk of root rot. Hydro pellets at the bottom solve this. Also aesthetically: colored granulates (pink, orange) or deco bark on the top layer turn an ordinary houseplant into a gift item. The price point of the plant + pot + top layer often falls into the "real gift" segment.
When does demand peak?
Two main peaks:
- Spring (March-May): customers buy new plants and pots. Largest peak.
- Autumn (September-October): autumn decor and interior updates.
Demand is more stable in summer and winter. Combine purchases with ceramic pots, pot covers, watering cans.
