Citronella is one of those products you only realize you need when the mosquitoes arrive. And then the demand is intense. This collection is set up to efficiently meet that peak: different sizes, different holders, from small loose-sale glasses to large patio bowls.
What can you find in the collection?
Focus on packaging and holder. The content is citronella wax everywhere, but the packaging determines where it belongs on your shelf.
- Glass jars with assorted colors: 3 to 4 colors per package (green, light green, beige, grey, yellow, pink, orange). Classic patio size.
- Ribbed glass 8.5 cm: 4 assorted. More design appeal, ideal for gift shops.
- Ceramic bowls: D11.5 and D15 cm. For larger patios or restaurants with broader use.
- Cement pots (set of 4): small sizes, with an industrial look. For design-oriented customers.
- Terracotta bowl D13: natural look, Mediterranean vibe. Combines well with other earth tones.
- Glass jar with handle D7.6: 3 assorted. Portable size, convenient for people who want to move the candle to different places.
- Small glasses (D5, H6.2): the budget entry segment, ideal for loose sales.
When does demand peak?
From mid-April to early September. The biggest peaks are in May-June (customers prepare for summer) and August (when people actually experience mosquitoes). Intermediate peaks follow weather reports: heatwaves, wet periods, and mosquito news in the media lead to quick reorders. Important to know: customers rarely buy just one citronella. The sales cycle is usually 3-6 pieces per visit. Patio restaurants and garden center customers sometimes buy 12-24 at a time.
For which target group?
Patio restaurants: core customers. They typically buy larger ceramic bowls and glass jars in bulk. Gift shops: the ribbed glass variants and cement pot sets. They sell as small gifts for someone with a patio. Florists and garden centers: all sizes mixed. Customers often buy citronella along with flowers or plants for the patio.
Combine and position
For garden centers: build a "patio corner" with citronella, outdoor candles, outdoor lighting, and outdoor accessories together. One-stop shopping for the patio customer. Important usage tip to pass on: citronella works up to about 1-2 meters around the candle. For large patios, advise customers to spread several candles rather than one central one.
