Lungo is our most sustainable pot series. The material consists of 40% a mix of coffee husks (residual waste from coffee production) and recycled FSC wood, supplemented with 60% polypropylene for dimensional stability. For florists and garden centers with customers who specifically look for sustainable products: this is the collection you want to be able to offer.

Why offer Lungo?
Three clear arguments:
- Concrete sustainability story: 40% recycled material is a verifiable claim that you can explain to customers.
- Coffee husks as residual waste: the use of coffee husks (which would otherwise be thrown away) is a concrete example of a circular economy.
- FSC wood in the mix: for customers who specifically look for FSC certification, this is an additional selling point.
For non-sustainability-focused customers: the material does not look fundamentally different from ordinary plastic. The sustainability story is the added value.
What aesthetic does Lungo work for?
Two main styles:
- Modern-sustainable: Lungo as a central pot for plant sales with a visible sustainability story. For concept stores.
- Universal-basic: Lungo as a regular pot line without specific thematic positioning.
For which target group?
Florists and garden centers with a customer base that chooses based on sustainability: core customers. Resellers to companies and institutions with specific sustainability requirements (e.g., governments, schools, hotels with green certification). Concept stores and boutiques with a sustainable signature.
Comparison with other pot series
Other Wiljan series are not specifically marked as sustainable:
- Earthenware pots - traditional earthenware. Sustainable due to long lifespan, but no recycled material.
- Plastic pots - regular plastic without a specific recycled claim.
- E&K pots - plastic series in muted colors.
Lungo is the only series with a concrete recycled material claim.
